The new relationship between Greece and Israel is analyzed by Efthimios Tsiliopoulos of Athens International Radio along with Yitzhak Noy of Israel Radio with Jay Bushinsky of CBS Radio as moderator of Middle East Perspective. Jamil Hamad of Time magazine focuses on the direct negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority getting under way in Washington.  He discusses this issue with Noy and Bushinsky as well as the way in which the projected construction of a mosque near Ground Zero is viewed by rank and file Palestinians in the West Bank and Arabs elsewhere in the Middle East.

The Hebrew-language version of "Middle East Perspective" deals with the controversial declaration by Shas' spiritual leader, Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, that God should bring down a fatal plague on Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas and on the Palestinians of the West Bank in general.  The guest panelist is Zvi Ganin of Beit Berl College who is interviewed by Yitzhak Noy of Israel Radio with Jay Bushinsky of CBS Radio as moderator. They also discuss the recent increase in the influence of ultra-orthodox Jews in Israel's
body politic.
