         MIDDLE EAST PERSPECTIVE

Speaking Jay Bushinsky, Yitzhak Noy and Jamil Hamad
January 19, 2010

Audio Clip:

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas' proposal that the U.S. come forward with a comprehensive peace plan based on the 1967 lines and resolving the Jerusalem issue is the opening topic on this week's "Middle East Perspective." Joining Moderator Jay Bushinsky of CBS Radio and Yitzhak Noy of Israel Radio is Jamil Hamad of Time magazine.

They also discuss the stalemated effort to work an exchange in which kidnapped Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit would be freed in return for the release of 1,000 Palestinian prisoners.

The final topic is the current status of Israeli-Turkish relations in the wake of Defense Minister
Ehud Barak's one-day visit to Ankara.
