 MIDDLE EAST PERSPECTIVE

Speaking Jay Bushinsky and Yitzhak Noy
October 26, 2009

Audio Clip:

The Temple Mount riots in which Muslim militants clashed with Israeli police are discussed on "Middle East Perspective" by Yitzhak Noy of Israel Radio and Jay Bushinsky of CBS Radio.  They focus on the political background and objectives of these outbreaks, noting that there were deviations from religious norms on both sides.  Also on their agenda is Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's decision to appoint a committee of experts to evaluate the conduct of Israeli forces during last winter's incursion into the Gaza Strip.  Israel was urged by the UN's secretary-general, Ban Ki-Moon, and several friendly states to investigate the troops' behavior in the light of the UN Human Rights Committee report compiled by South Africa's Judge Richard Goldstone.
